What We Do

Building Peace Through Dialogue, Reconciliation and Collective Action.

Peace is more than the absence of conflict. It is the presence of understanding, forgiveness, mutual respect and the willingness to build relationships across differences.

At IPFLOA, we work to promote peaceful coexistence by bringing people, communities and institutions together to prevent conflict, resolve differences, rebuild relationships and strengthen a culture of peace.

Our Areas of Focus

Ten pathways to a more peaceful society.

Peacebuilding & Conflict Prevention

We work to strengthen peaceful relationships and address tensions before they escalate into conflict.

Through dialogue, community engagement, awareness and peacebuilding initiatives, we encourage individuals and communities to recognise differences without allowing them to become sources of hatred, violence or division.

Conflict can damage relationships long after the immediate disagreement has ended.

We promote peaceful approaches to resolving differences and creating opportunities for people and communities to move from conflict towards understanding, forgiveness and reconciliation.

Our approach encourages dialogue rather than retaliation and reconciliation rather than continued division.

Political differences should not destroy relationships.

IPFLOA promotes peaceful political engagement by encouraging politicians, political parties, candidates, supporters and citizens to disagree without hatred and compete without destroying one another.

We seek to support dialogue and peace initiatives that help reduce political tensions, encourage responsible participation and create opportunities for reconciliation across political divides.

Elections can create deep divisions within communities and societies.

We support efforts that promote peaceful political participation, dialogue and reconciliation before, during and after elections.

Our work recognises that peace should continue beyond the ballot box — creating opportunities for people and communities to rebuild relationships after periods of political competition or tension.

Lasting peace begins with relationships within communities.

We create and support opportunities for people from different backgrounds, beliefs, cultures and communities to come together, listen to one another and build mutual understanding.

Through community dialogue and engagement, we seek to strengthen trust, unity and peaceful coexistence.

Youth Peace & Leadership

Young people have an important role to play in shaping the future of peaceful societies.

IPFLOA promotes peace, forgiveness, tolerance, responsible leadership and peaceful conflict resolution among young people.

We seek to equip the next generation with the values and understanding needed to become responsible leaders and advocates for peace within their communities.

Women have an important role to play in building peaceful and resilient communities.

We seek to encourage and support women’s participation in peacebuilding and community development, creating opportunities for their voices, experiences and leadership to contribute to peaceful solutions and stronger communities.

Peace begins with understanding.

Through peace education, awareness initiatives, seminars, workshops and public engagement, we promote a deeper understanding of peace, forgiveness, tolerance, compassion and peaceful coexistence.

Our goal is to encourage people to make peace a personal value and a shared responsibility.

Sustainable peace requires informed conversations and responsible action.

IPFLOA seeks to contribute to conversations around peace, conflict prevention, reconciliation and social cohesion through research, advocacy and policy dialogue.

We aim to encourage ideas, discussions and partnerships that can contribute to more peaceful communities and institutions.

Peaceful societies require leaders who understand the responsibility that comes with influence.

We promote leadership development and ethical citizenship by encouraging integrity, respect, responsibility, inclusion and service.

Our aim is to help cultivate individuals who lead with understanding and contribute positively to the communities around them.

The Peace Academy

Learn. Lead. Build Peace.

The IPFLOA Peace Academy is our flagship platform for peace education, training and capacity building.

Through courses, workshops, seminars, webinars and leadership programmes, the Peace Academy provides opportunities to develop knowledge and practical skills around peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

Partnerships for Peace

Peace cannot be built alone. Building lasting peace requires people and institutions to work together.

IPFLOA seeks to build partnerships across political, ethnic, religious, governmental, private-sector, civil-society and community divides.

We believe that meaningful collaboration can create stronger pathways to dialogue, reconciliation, peace initiatives and lasting social cohesion.
